Privacy Policy

One Line a Day is a calm daily journal. This page explains, in plain language, what information the app handles and how. The short version: your journal is yours, we don't sell your data, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
What the app stores
- Your entries — the lines you write, any song links, and any photos you add.
- Your email address — only if you create an account to sync across devices.
If you never sign in, everything stays on your device only (in your browser's local storage) and never leaves it.
If you sign in (optional)
Signing in lets your journal sync across your devices and be backed up. When you sign in, your entries and photos are stored securely in our database and file storage, hosted by Supabase. Every account is isolated — technical access rules ensure that only you can read your own entries and photos. Photos are kept in a private storage area, not publicly accessible.
You can sign in with an email magic link or with Google. If you use Google, Google shares your email address with us to create your account — nothing more.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views so we can understand roughly how many people use the app. It is privacy-friendly and cookieless — it does not identify you personally, build a profile, or track you across other sites.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted providers only to run the service:
- Supabase — stores your account, synced entries, and photos.
- Vercel — hosts the website and provides the cookieless analytics above.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Your choices and controls
- Export — you can download all your entries (and photos) at any time from the History page.
- Edit or clear — you can change or delete any entry directly in the app.
- Delete your account and data — email us at the address below and we will delete your account and all associated cloud data.
Data retention
Local entries remain on your device until you clear them or your browser data is cleared. If you have an account, your synced data is kept until you delete it or ask us to delete your account.
Children
One Line a Day is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
